COVID-19 INFORMATION AND UPDATES
We want to keep you up-to-date on the precautions Innovative Therapy & Wellness (ITW) is currently taking. We are continuously monitoring the Center for Disease Control (CDC) and both Virginia and Virginia Beach Health Department websites for updates on recommendations. Please see below for the steps we are asking from all clients and staff to take to minimize risk of transmission and maximize your health so we can continue to provide uninterrupted services.
WHAT ITW IS DOING:
WHAT WE ARE ASKING OF YOU:
A NOTE FOR HIGHER RISK PATIENTS:
We want to be sure to safeguard any vulnerable populations at this time. If you have underlying chronic medical conditions such as heart disease, diabetes, lung disease, are pregnant, or over the age of 60, we recommend you hold off on your therapy appointments at this time. This includes patients with cancer and those currently taking medications which suppress the immune system.
VIRTUAL/TELEHEALTH
During this time of social distancing, a telehealth session may be the perfect solution to have your therapy appointment from the safety and comfort of your own home. Although we pride ourselves in being great manual therapists, we are also movement specialists. Via telehealth, we are available to help guide you through proper exercise techniques, exercise progressions, posture assessments, ergonomic assessments, education, and much more.
There are many conditions which telehealth treatment may be appropriate. If you’d like to switch your in-person appointment to a virtual session, please contact the front desk for more details and find out if telehealth is right for you.
We thank you for your patience and are sure you can appreciate us doing our best to keep up with a very dynamic situation and offering alternatives to in-person treatment. Please do not hesitate to contact our office at 757-486-8663 or email [email protected] with any questions or concerns. Thank you for your understanding as we all work together to continue to keep our community safe and healthy. In the meantime, remember to continue your healthy habits such as getting adequate sleep, eating healthy, and drinking plenty of fluids!
WHAT ITW IS DOING:
- All ITW staff members are consistently following protocols for hand-washing as well as sanitizing equipment and treatment tables BEFORE and AFTER appointments.
- Waiting areas, bathrooms, doorknobs, and all commonly shared spaces are disinfected on a regular basis throughout the day.
- Patient treatments will be performed in private treatment rooms. If your treatment requires you to be in the gym or use equipment in the gym, social distancing will be performed.
- ITW staff members are wearing masks (and gloves if hands on treatment) during treatment.
- All staff members will stay home if they are sick or caring for a family/house member who is currently ill.
- New patients will be asked screening questions and informed of the check in procedures prior to their appointment.
WHAT WE ARE ASKING OF YOU:
- Patients are asked to arrive close to their scheduled appointment time to minimize time spent in waiting area.
- If you are over 18, please do not bring any companions to your visit at this time.
- Upon arriving, use the hand sanitizer provided at the front desk OR proceed to the restroom and wash your hands with soap and water for at least 20 seconds.
- When finished, please remain seated in the waiting room until you are taken back by your therapist at which time temperature will be taken.
- Per Executive Order Number 63, effective May 29th and until further notice, all patients aged ten and over shall wear a face covering when entering our clinic. The requirement to wear a face covering does not apply to individuals exercising or using exercise equipment, any person who has trouble breathing, and persons with health conditions that prohibit wearing a face covering. Nothing in this Order shall require the use of a face covering by any person for whom doing so would be contrary to his or her health or safety because of a medical condition. A cloth face covering can be as simple as a bandana or cut off t-shirt sleeve placed around the neck and lifted up around the nose. The CDC provides excellent guidance for face masks which can easily be made at home for no cost and require no sewing. - In addition, to minimize time spent at the front desk, patients may choose to keep their credit card on file and are asked to schedule appointments by phone.
- ANY signs of illness (Cough, Shortness of breath, Fever-temperature of 100.4 or higher, Chills, Sneezing, or any other Flu-like symptoms).
- If you believe you have been exposed to COVID-19.
- If you or anyone you have been in close contact with has traveled out of state or the country with in the last 14 days.
